Peer Support Programs

Our peer support groups link people with a shared life experience. Our belief is that folks that share similar life experience can lift each other up and help each other thrive.

Please review our Program Policy below:

This is a safe space and a brave space.

Be honest about your feelings and thoughts.

Use “I” statements to express yourself.

Take turns speaking and listen attentively. Don't interrupt others.

Keep your comments relevant so everyone can participate.

Turn off or silence all notifications on any devices you have and step out if you must take a call.

Demonstrate respect of cultural differences and diversity of views.

No one is better than another – we are all equal with different perspectives and lenses.

Respect confidentiality. Do not share identifying details about other members after leaving this space.

During our time on Zoom, we will have certain rules specific to online communication.

Please do not screen share without permission from the facilitator.

Please do not share inappropriate images, words, or other content either in the chat, in your background, or through screen sharing. (Inappropriate content includes but is not limited to: pornography, discriminatory words/phrases or imagery, threats to body or mind of another or self, ableism, racism, ethnophobia, biphobia, transphobia, homophobia, classism, or sexism.)

Members may be removed from the meetings at the host(s) discretion.

Breaking the rules may result in removal from this group, per the hosts' discretion, and you will not be allowed to participate in any other peer support groups through the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ Center.
