El Monte Kicks-off the San Gabriel Valley Pride Tour 2023 with PRIDE NIGHT at the Farmers Market
El Monte, CA – On Thursday, June 1, the City of El Monte, in partnership with the San Gabriel Valley LGBTQ+ Center and the San Gabriel Valley Pride Roundtable, will kick-off the San Gabriel Valley Pride Tour 2023 by hosting PRIDE Night during the Farmers Market on Main St. Thousands of individuals and families are expected to attend PRIDE Night which will feature a musical performance by Mariachi Arcoiris, the first and only LGBTQ+ Mariachi in the word. The City is also partnering with the Queer Mercado, the first Latino marketplace focusing on LGBTQ+ businesses and brands, to welcome vendors that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and Latino heritage. In addition, this family-friendly event aims to educate the community, build acceptance and allyship while positioning the San Gabriel Valley as a welcoming region to queer and transgender people and families.
El Monte’s PRIDE Night will mark the beginning of the SGV Pride Tour 2023 which will consist of eight coordinated events throughout the San Gabriel Valley, organized by the San Gabriel Valley Pride Roundtable, a collaborative effort formed by the SGV LGBTQ+ Center, Mayors, City Councilmembers, and Community Leaders from across the SGV. This kick-off event will set the tone for the rest of the tour, creating an atmosphere of unity, acceptance, and love.
